We picked up all the fresh flowers today for the wedding. There are a ton, so I am beginning to feel a little overwhelmed and don't know where to start. I was going to start working tonight, but I think I'll just wait until tomorrow. Maybe I'll have a better handle of the situation and more creativity by then.

Tonight was Megan's bachelorette party on the Plaza. We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory and then ran around the Plaza on a scavenger hunt. After 30 minutes, we met at the big fountain to show off all we had collected and to see who won. I believe Megan's team LOST!

Wedding week begins for our friend Megan. She has asked me to be her florist and out of pure optimism and prego brain, I agreed to do this for her with a 4 week old. This is the centerpiece for the buffet table and since it is not real, could be done in advance.

Happy 2nd Birthday Addison!! Addison is a little girl we began sponsoring in December after meeting her last August while on our visit to China. She lives in a wonderful foster home that does amazing things for kids with disabilities while waiting to be adopted. We think she is the cutest thing ever (besides our own little one). I will add more pics when she receives and opens our gift for her.

We had a pretty lazy, uneventful holiday. Adam and Grayson got in a good nap.

I have taken on the task of making all the flowers for a wedding on Friday. I finished all of the pew wreaths today, which was a great feeling. The big challenge will begin Wednesday when the fresh flowers arrive. I will keep you posted.

Grayson attended his first Fourth of July BBQ with friends. He was immediately greeted by Elise who was quite fascinated by him. Shortly after, he became upset during his diaper change, peed in his face and on the carpet, and had to be changed out of his only outfit with red, white, and blue in it.

Elise and Elim work together to play washers. They really wanted to be involved in all the adult games.

We used our calming tip again. This kid loves to be outside and in the sun. He even gets fussy when he is moved back to the shade. Since he can't be in the sun and wear sunscreen, we have to keep him in the shade most of the time. He calmed down and sat in his bouncy seat for a while under the tree in our backyard. What will we do in the winter?

Our visitors today are friends from Becca's work and brought us lunch. Lucy is expecting a baby brother in a few weeks, so she wanted to get in some practice. She did a great job and Grayson fell asleep in her arms.

This week's Sunday night volleyball match was between the two teams from our Sunday School class. So, our teacher came out to watch and jumped in to play the last game. It was fun to watch, but unfortunately that team (Adam's team) lost. Better luck next week.

We needed a few things at Wal-Mart, but Grayson was sleeping when we needed to go, so we put him in the sling and he just hung out during the entire trip.

Every month, we get together with 3 other couples from our Sunday School class to have a Dinner for Eight. This was Grayson's first one and he did not make a good first impression. He was pretty fussy and may never get invited back. We still had fun.

Our big adventure for the week!!!
It began at 6:00 tonight. We planned to go see some friends and their new baby with Matt and Randi. We had to stop for dinner on the way to the hospital because the boys were screaming and we were all hungry. Noah was really fascinated with Grayson at the restaurant.

We didn't arrive to the hospital until 8:25, only to find out that visiting hours ended at 8:30. They let us back, but April and Andy were busy at the moment, so we waited in the lobby. Grayson was introduced to a bottle tonight. After several minutes, he took the whole thing and was content afterwards. Thank goodness. We waited in the lobby for 45 minutes.

Congratulations April and Andy!! These are great friends from our Bible study, who now live an hour away.

We finally made it home at 11 tonight after 5 hours of fun. We all said if we had not gone with another couple, we would have killed each other. We had fun though and had a lot of laughs with everything that we endured.

Look at me!!! My head control and arm strength is getting better. Mommy is not going to give up on this tummy time thing, so I might as well show her some impressive moves.

Obviously today was pretty uneventful. Grayson did help Mommy check her email though. Maybe tomorrow will be more exciting.

Update: The doctor's visit went well. Grayson has grown 2.25 inches and is up to 7 lbs now. They were very pleased with how well he was doing. He even showed off by peeing all over himself and the walls.

Could it really be? It looks like Grayson has grown about 2 inches since he was born. We go to the doctor tomorrow to find out just how much he has grown.

Grayson had his first real bath today and boy did he love it.

Mommy and Grayson walked to Wal-Mart this morning to buy some milk. It was 85 degrees at 10:00, but the heat didn't bother us. Grayson slept the whole time.

Granddad was so excited to take Grayson to Cabela's, but of course, he slept through the whole experience. He will just have to pick out his first fishing rod later when he is awake.

Grayson had many adventures today. He went to Home Depot for the first time to explore the many aisles of tools with Dad and Granddad

After dinner we went to Sweet Caroline's for homemade ice cream. If only Grayson had been awake, he might have gotten some.

Today was fairly uneventful. We had no visitors today, so we got lots of sleeping in.

Adam took Grayson out on his first walk to try to calm him down. He was crying because he was hungry and I was at a meeting. If only Adam could provide food like Mommy can. It was a rough 2 hours, but Grayson got fed eventually.

Grayson was dedicated spontaneously at church this morning. We didn't know it was taking place, but thought we would ask to participate since Mimi and Papa were in town.

Grayson went to Daddy's volleyball game tonight. He had lots of attention, but slept through most of the game.

Grayson's first outing was to Oklahoma Joes, the best BBQ restaurant in KC. This is a must have whenever we have company in town. He thoroughly enjoyed it as he slept right through the entire experience.

We came home today and had our first family photo (of course by the flag in the color Adam is determined will be Grayson's favorite color).

Grayson got to meet Mimi and Pop (Adam's parents) for the first time today. They will be staying with us until Tuesday and making sure Grayson is as spoiled as possible.

Grayson's first full day of life was a busy one. We had lots of visitors come see us in the hospital, so he had lots of attention. Adam and I did get some snuggle time in between visitors and nurses coming by.

Grayson Nicholas Foster arrived at 6:09 pm on June 10 weighing 6 lbs 11 oz. In our opinion he is perfect and handsome. It will be a great new adventure with him in our lives now!

Just waiting, and waiting, and waiting

Well, I am sure most of you know this but we are just hanging out waiting for Grayson to make his arrival in the world. When we went to the doctor on Friday she told us that Becca is progressing well. She has set a date for Wednesday if Grayson has not decided to come by then. So if Grayson has not decided to come here is the plan. We will get to the hospital at 8:00 (central) and the doctor will break Becca's water. This will hopefully put Becca into natural labor but if she doesn't progress after a while then they will induce. With that said, Becca strongly does not want to be induced for several reasons. Please pray Grayson comes before Wednesday because Becca's worst fear in this whole thing is NOT EATING!!!! She is really worried about this because the Dr told us that she is not going to be able to eat after midnight on Tuesday. Becca needs to eat to have energy so this is the biggest prayer request. So, please pray and we will update as soon as anything happens.
