What a day! Neylan had a rough weekend, complaining of his tooth and his tongue hurting so bad he couldn't eat. Eventually we decided maybe it was his throat. He was so lethargic and only ran a slight fever, but I decided to take him to the doctor anyway today. But, he is just fine. No real signs of anything going on. So, $25 later, we came home with 2 suckers!!

After a nap at 6:30 tonight, Neylan had enough energy to join everyone at the park for our first tennis lesson. I think Grayson will be able to pick it up pretty quickly. Neylan, eh! He needs some help with his form.

Tonight was a big night for our first little Cubbie! His first awards night. He had a great year and memorized 27 scripture verses. That's impressive and makes us so proud. He has grown up so much this year and although he was the only 3 year old in the class and was by far, the smallest, he held his own and did a great job. He has really learned that God loves him, Jesus died for him, and that the Bible is God's word!

At the very beginning of the ceremony, Grayson was one of the kids chosen to stand on stage and sing the Cubbies song. I was actually shocked he did it!

Saved the best part for last, cake!!!

May 4

Today, I helped some good friends host a storybook themed baby shower for our dear friend, Nicole. The decorations were so cute with food paired with a classic children's book.

Sadly, at the shower, I realized that when my camera fell on the floor the other day, it did not make a full recovery. I hadn't checked it out right after the incident, so was a little disturbed to realize this at the shower. It will now only take one picture and then turns itself off. Not acceptable when my subjects are typically moving! Even these chocolate-covered strawberries Adam made tonight weren't enough to cheer me up about the brokenness of my third child!

May 3

Can we just be done already?! The snow today broke records in KC. Yay :(  (insert sarcasm!)

May 2

My guys are really into popsicles, even when it's 30 degrees outside! So, we made our own this week out of fresh fruit. Grayson got to try the first one after lunch today. Yum

April 29

My mom really wanted a family picture, but we got started a little too late. So, we ended up at the playground to play in the dark tonight

April 28

It's Trolley Run morning!! The 25th annual. My parents and brother came to town to run/walk and help me with the boys.

Waiting with 10,000 others at the start line

Ben ran and pushed the boys in the stroller

Dad finished with a good time, despite his knees bothering him for half of the race

And my mom finished with a good time after having both knees replaced in December!! The Trolley Run was her big goal that she worked hard for. So proud she did it!

Grayson was so excited about today. But when it came time for his race, he was NOT ready at all. He was tired from being woken up so early. I like this picture. Neylan took off and then turned back to see why Grayson wasn't running very fast!

He's a winner!

They loved all of the activities at the kids' race

sand art for Mother's Day

Face painting
(He's a dog, if you can't tell!)

Exercise equipment

And a giant hamster ball. This was Grayson's favorite. He really did a good job making it go across the grass

April 27

Thanks for fixing the tire Neylan. He's using a wrench, gun holster, and a pirate spy glass! Whatever you need to get the job done!

Uncle Ben, Nana, and Granddad arrived this afternoon! We are ready for a weekend of fun

April 26

The forecast looks beautiful and we have family coming to town this weekend, so I decided we needed some patio furniture

It will look much better outside, but for now everyone is excited!

April 25

We finally have a pretty day, so we're heading outside to spend the morning at the farm with friends.

Scanning the parking lot for monsters

April 24

Our sweet daycare provider made us some yummy kimbap today! She made it for the kids at lunch and then sent a bunch home for us to enjoy! Love her!!! It's rice, ham, veggies, and egg rolled up in a seaweed roll. We love it

April 23

Really? It's the end of April and we are still having frosts overnight. Hoping my new rhodendrons last until spring really shows up!

April 22

Ahh! Spring. When dandilions bloom like crazy and little ones think that every mommy needs a bunch of them. Today I got a small bouquet of 3 after we went to the library!

April 21

It's Awana carnival night! After the big kids cleared out of the gym, the little guys got to go in to enjoy the inflatables. This baseball one was a favorite.

April 20

He worked so hard and has finally earned his prize umbrella!

And after all the work he put into learning how to go to sleep on his own, he didn't even want to go shopping for his prize. He told me I could just surprise him. So, Spiderman it is!

Now all we need is some rain!
