October 5

We finally found a new table for our breakfast nook on Craig's List today! I love it and we got a great deal on it. So, I think I'll cover it with a tablecloth until the boys go to college to prevent it from being damaged!

S'mores at the bonfire. These boys each had 2 s'mores and a ton of other snacks. Bellies full of sugar tonight!

October 4

It's fall and that means time for s'mores! We have a bonfire tomorrow night, so we did a practice run tonight- in the microwave!

October 2

Another garage sale find- this big marble run. I worked for a good 30 minutes to put it all together just right and Grayson spent about 3 minutes playing with it then knocked over!

October 1

Today, I determined, was decorating day. I am tired of unpacking and needed a change. So I went shopping and began working on some Pinterest projects!

The first is my pumpkin patch. We have this nice carpeted ledge above the coat closet in the entry that just screams, climb on me little boys! So, I knew I had to get it decorated quickly before I found a little person trying to fly or just hang out 8 feet off the ground. I'm pretty pleased with the result and the boys like it and haven't seemed to be tempted to join the scarecrows!

My second project was these fall vases filled with split green peas, red beans, and corn.

Two pinterest projects done in one day- a new record has been set!

September 30

It's a horrible picture, but it's the only one I have. Batman on his batmobile

September 29

Happy Chuseok! Today we celebrated Korean Thanksgiving with the Korean American Society in our city. They are always so welcoming to families with adopted kiddos. We have done a few events with them in the past and they are always so much fun. To see more check out my post on the adoption blog.

September 28

Just more unpacking and organizing today. Not too much fun

September 27

More garage saling today! And of course, just more stuff for the boys. Today's most exciting finds were the original Buzz and Woody- for 50 cents each!!! Nevermind that Buzz's arm is broken off and Woody keeps losing a shoe (we do have it though). The boys were excited to add them to their Toy Story collection!

September 26

Mimi and Nana flew in today to help us unpack and get settled a bit. No picture today either!

September 25

Too busy unpacking to take a picture!

September 24

The first bath--in the HUGE tub! The boys had so much room to play and splash around. They loved it!

Until the jets were turned on! Neylan was not a fan!!

September 23

Neylan also has a new big boy bed!! We bought a twin bed and frame from a friend last week with the thought that we would use it for Neylan eventually. But once our furniture arrived at the new house, Adam decided he didn't want to put the crib back together, so I guess we'll see how it works. I wasn't prepared for this at all (obviously by the lack of bedding)! I was able to find a pair of twin sheets from college and we threw some small blankets on top. Sounds like a good reason for a shopping trip!

September 22

Going to tackle the kitchen first. The pile of boxes that are as tall as me is a bit overwhelming though!

Grayson's new big boy bed arrived today! Do you see those muscles he's going to use to help put it together?

Impressive!

September 21

Moving Day!! We have waited so long for this day to come. So glad it's here and a beautiful day

Our furniture is beginning to fill up the rooms!

The movers are gone and the basement storage area is FULL!! How did this happen? Hoping some of those boxes are misplaced and are supposed to go back upstairs

September 20

Today was a busy day to say the least!
Renew for moms kicked off a new year this morning. I am so glad the get this back into our routine every other Thursday morning. And we made a fun craft this morning- a giant paperclip that stands up to hold pictures, notes, etc.

Our closing did happen today! After Renew I ran the boys to daycare to take naps there so Adam and I could go sign our paperwork and make this beautiful home officially ours!

After the closing, I ran by the house to drop a few things off and the wonderful family I mentioned yesterday left us this note, a beautiful yellow mum, and a laundry basket full of housewarming goodies! I cannot speak more highly of this family. God has truly blessed us in buying this house from them. And since they only moved 1.5 miles away, we may run into them periodically!

September 19

Closing day!!! Finally!  Just kidding. Found out that our bank dropped the ball on our paperwork and the closing won't be happening today :( For sure tomorrow, though (we hope). After such a long, frustrating day, I received this text from the family we are buying the house from. They are the nicest family and we are so excited to move into the home they have created and make it ours.

September 18

There's nothing like two little boys who want to make their dinner all by themselves!

September 16

A certain little 3-yr-old may have killed my beloved point-and-shoot camera tonight. I've already learned the hard way that cameras don't mix well with water, but this may be my second drowned camera. But I don't know if the battery is just dead or if it's the whole camera. Can't find out until we move and I unpack the battery charger. GRRR. When will this mama learn :(

September 15

Garage sale day! We went shopping with the intent of buying some furniture for the new house, and this is all we came home with- a parachute, Elefun, and the Jungle Book DVD. No wonder the boys love garage sales so much!

September 14

This is always fun to get! Ended up being a little fender bender caused by Adam going 3 mph or less that sent the woman in front to the hospital on a stretcher!! Not a single dent in either car. Can we say insurance fraud?

Girl's Night Out tonight! Oh how I needed this!! We had our Renew steering retreat tonight as we gear up for another fun year in Renew, my mommy group.

September 12

Tonight was the big kick-off to the Christmas musical the kids ministry is going to do this year. It's going to be such a fun musical. And the new director this year. . . .  :)  I'm not exactly sure how I ended up in this role (but I think it has a lot to do with the person in charge of Wednesday night programming- Adam). I've never directed a musical before, let alone taught kids music or choreography. So, it should be interesting. Definitely a step out of my comfort zone. And tonight's attendance-- 100+  (gulp!) I can do this, I can do this!!

September 11

I will NOT take this personally- but, is my driving really that bad?!

September 10

The excitement continues! Grayson went to find his AWANA book and all of his papers from last night. We worked on his Bible verse today and he's getting better with it.

We also had the opportunity to take the boys to the new house tonight. We were able to show them their new rooms and all the fun new things about this house. Hoping this really helps the transition. Grayson brought Monkey along to make sure he approved!

Their new favorite space- the GINORMOUS tub! We could fit a few more kids in here

They also had fun with their dog and asked if he came with the house

Why, yes it did!!!

September 9

My baby is old enough now to start our AWANA program at church!! He started tonight and was excited to have his vest and his book. I am helping in his class this year. He will get patches to sew onto his vest for every Bible verse he memorizes. Hope the excitement continues!

September 8

Today was Family Fun Day at the farm for my work. They had a pancake breakfast, concert, and free admission. We took advantage of the great weather and headed out for the morning

Grayson was happy to run into friends there

Feeding the goats is still a scary thing at times, but I think we made great progress today

Today was also Adam's birthday and he wanted a cookie cake, so he went and picked out the one he wanted!

Grayson's friend Kaity came over for the party and a sleepover!!
