Tonight was the Chiefs Charity Game benefitting CCVI (where I work). This was a huge fundraiser for us and we received quite a large check for the center. Our kiddos made a commercial and did a skit on the field during pregame. It was fun to watch. The game, on the other hand, didn't end so well.

For those of you who don't live here, you may be wondering why we are in our jackets in August. It was quite chilly (for August). It was in the 60s and quite windy. Everyone was in sweatshirts and jackets. This doesn't happen often here.

Tonight, Grayson had Mommy all to himself while Adam played cards with the guys. The first thing we did tonight was have dinner together.

August 27, 2009

This post is still in progress. Grayson had a night with Dad because I was in a meeting all night. So, the only picture we took that day was with the phone. I'm still trying to figure out if I can get a pic from my phone to the computer. It was the cutest pic, so I hope I can.

This will be the last day for this outfit. Showed a little too much belly today. Daddy said he would be breaking the dress code at school, so we'll have to retire this cute outfit.

Getting stronger everyday

August 25, 2009

I rocked Grayson to sleep and this was the thanks I got. He really fell asleep while flipping me off

But I say, who cares. It's 7:16 pm!!!

Unfortunately, this nap only lasted 45 minutes, but at least it's a nap in the afternoon/evening. Those are few and far between.

I just realized that the posts for the last 3 days have all been about sleep. An abundance on Sunday; The lack of on Monday; and trying to get back on track on Tuesday. We'll try to be more exciting tomorrow.

August 24, 2009

This was not the time I wanted to see when I finally got Grayson down, especially when I have to work all day tomorrow.

It's so nice to get an afternoon nap in with a baby who rarely sleeps during the day. I think Grayson may be going through a growth spurt because he was only awake for about 2 hours from the time he went to bed Saturday night until Sunday at 6:30 pm.

We spent the afternoon at the air show and city market. It was a beautiful day to be outside.
I took cotton balls to put in Grayson's ears to block the sound from the really loud jets. His ears were a little small, so I just had to hold the cotton on whenever a loud plane would fly closeby.

August 21, 2009

My project this week was the finish Grayson's nursery. I finally got all the pictures hung on the walls and everything cleaned up.

More pictures will be added as we take them

August 20, 2009

I failed my challenge today. No picture. I worked all day and then played Bunko. Nothing exciting to take a picture of today, although Grayson went through 3 outfits for the first time today.

August 19, 2009

Since Grayson is getting so big, he doesn't have to stay in the hammock all the time. After he is clean, we remove the hammock and let him play and kick while sitting up. He looks quite relaxed tonight.

Cute and clean!!

August 18, 2009

Grayson goes on so many stroller rides, we had to fill the tires with air before our ride tonight. He was asleep before we even left.

I worked really hard to get a cute blog title picture today, but I'm not happy with how this one turned out. So, I may retry for a better one later.

August 16, 2009

Look at Grayson's new trick. He has become really interested in standing. He's got such strong legs, we barely have to support him.

Our church picnic was tonight. The weather was nice until we got our food. Then it began to rain. Nicole was smart enough to bring an umbrella. Adam and I huddled under our umbrella to try to keep our food dry.

Our little friend Benjamin shows off his head injury. He fell off a chair and ended up with 26 stitches over his eye. Ouch!!

It was so extremely humid after it stopped raining. I think Grayson was ready to just chill on his own without anyone holding him to make him even hotter.

Lyndon helped up pack up our chairs. Look how big those guns are!

August 15, 2009

Our Saturday was not very exciting. We spent the day cleaning. Grayson wants to be with us all the time, so it makes it harder to get stuff done. We got out the front to back carrier, but Grayson wasn't too thrilled to be in it for very long. He's a little small still.

August 14, 2009

Grayson met a new friend today, Loren. Loren is the brother of one of the kiddos I work with. He is just 6 weeks younger than Grayson, but Grayson looks like he could eat Loren for dinner.

In just 3 short weeks, with a lot of sunshine and water, you too can have your very own no-maintenance weed garden. When we got home from our trip this week, the flower beds were full. Grayson helped me pull some weeds tonight. There are plenty more to tackle.

Look at the rose bush that has grown so much, we have to dodge it just to get in the front door.

August 12, 2009

Now that Grayson can sit in his Bumbo, he can join us for dinner. He was good while we ate.

August 11, 2009

It's fun to see Grayson's vision improving. He has become really interested in watching his mobile and mirror on his swing and has found all ceiling fans. He's only interested in the fans when they aren't moving though.
We have such a big boy now. He can sit all by himself in his Bumbo chair. He tolerates it for quite a while, which is nice for us.

August 10, 2009

Happy 2 month birthday Grayson!!
Adam gets tickets to a T-Bones game every year for a reading program he does at his school. We were able to get a big group of 8 other friends to go along with us.

Adam and David became huge fans late in the game when it became more interesting

We're home!!! One of the first big tasks was to sort through 2.5 weeks of mail. Grayson tried to help. There was so much, mostly junk of course

Hi Mimi, Papa, Nana, and Granddad. I made it home today. I had a great first vacation with you all and can't wait to see you in a few weeks.

With all the traveling we have done, when we stop at a restaurant or somewhere we let Grayson lay on his tummy for as long as he will stand it. We feel bad he is stuck in his carseat so much on these long drives, but he has done terrific throughout our entire trip. We went as far as Grayson would tolerate and by the time we got to St. Louis, he was done. Only 4 more hours to go tomorrow and we will be home.

Our little money thief. Children are so expensive!!

August 7, 2009

My first ride in the big stroller without my carseat. Looks like there's a lot of growing room

Look how big I'm getting

I met some more family members on Mommy's side today, but was so fussy nobody wanted a picture of me with them. It's been a very busy and exhausting past 2 weeks and I have met SO many people.

We spent Thursday evening at the lake with a few more people. Ben shows off his slalom skills.

Becca's cousin Rachel and her boyfriend Houston

Adam and Becca double skiing. That's about impressive as their skills get. Nothing fancy and exciting at all.

August 5, 2009

Grayson's first trip to the lake with Mommy, Daddy, Nana, and Granddad. He loved it so much, he could barely stay awake to enjoy it. He tolerated the wind in his face really well.

When we got home from the lake, Uncle Ben was ready for some time with Grayson. He tried to kidnap him, but we were there to stop him from running off with Grayson in the driver's seat.

Grayson meets one of the Sharits' twins, Camden
He's growing! We moved into size 1 diapers today, simply because we ran out of newborn diapers. I think they will work.

Grayson also met Micaela who is less than a week old. I can't believe how big he is next to her. He was the same size as she is and boy does he feel heavy compared to her 6 lbs. Her mom is one of Becca's best friends.
