June 7

We have started quite the collection of superhero birthday party supplies!
One week and counting until party time!

June 6

Gray is really into drawing right now. And he's working hard on drawing people. Not bad!

June 5

I'm not sure what possessed me to clean a bit today, but I had a few extra minutes, so I decided to put one of my Pinterest pins to the test. The washing machine clean! In the 8 years or so that I've had it, it's never been really cleaned on the inside. And it NEEDS it. So, I referred to this pin and was anxious to see how it turned out.

Before:

And after!

It's not completely clean (because I couldn't completely follow the directions- I didn't have that much time!) but it looks so much better than it did

June 4

Adam is running a volleyball camp this week, so the boys and I are on our own every evening. So, time to pull out the Pinterest activities again!

Tonight I threw together some chalk paint and let them work on their masterpieces on the driveway
(1 cup corn starch, 1 cup water, food coloring)

June 3

Today, the boys and I headed to Crown Center for the Curious George exhibit

Then we headed outside to have lunch by the fountains

They did a great job and we all had a great time! What a fun little outing for us

June 2

Summer volleyball season has begun!!

June 1

When the earbuds are a bit too big and keep falling out while watching a movie, you improvise with whatever you can find to keep them in!

Adam came home a bit later and asked Grayson why his head was cold!

May 31

The boys were wild when they got home from daycare today. And I was completely exhausted!! So, I didn't really mind what they did.

So, they started playing dress-up and superheroes

Neylan ran to the basement and put his tool belt on and grabbed the plunger. He came back up and loudly proclaimed, "I'm here to fix emergencies!"

I have no idea what superhero Grayson was trying to be, but he had on 5 layers of clothes, mostly pjs.

And then they discovered our neighbor outside and ran over to play. I have no idea how it started, but they found the one spot in her yard that had become a small mud puddle from all the rain.

I was too tired to do anything about it, so I just let him go!

Does this look fun or what?!

And then all the parents completely lost control!

And that's why I buy name-brand stain remover!!

The kids had such a good time and the parents had a lot of laughs watching them. Sometimes you just have to be so laid back that you don't care what happens as long as they are having fun!

May 30

Rain, rain, go away!

It has been raining, and raining, and raining here lately. Since we can't get outside to play, we went to a church gym to play with some friends this morning. Once we were home, though, Grayson wanted to try out his umbrella.

May 28

After dinner tonight the boys headed next door to play on the playset in the neighbors' yard. Apparently the first thing Neylan did was declare he was Superman and took off running towards the swing. But, he didn't stop on the swing, he just kept on going, flying right over it on his belly and into a mud hole! Yuck!! Guess it's bath night tonight

May 27

I started a little project today. Goodbye Mizzou gold room!! We are not your fans, so after 9 months in this house, the color has to go. We did take down the VERY large Mizzou emblem on the wall and the Mizzou border that went all the way around the room when we first moved in. So, this was the last step. I was able to get the first coat of trim paint on today.

May 26

Enjoying our lazy, nothing-on-the-agenda Sunday evening! This hasn't happened in a long time! I think Adam was a bit surprised to walk in the door and find all three of us on an ipad or computer, doing nothing but wasting time!

Let's go Royals!!

Today was Faith and Family day at the K and our church decided to make it a big deal. They sold 500 tickets and organized a pre-game tailgate and fun activities for the families to do.

We haven't been to a Royals game since Grayson was just over 1 and Neylan has never been. I'm interested to see how it goes!

They loved the baseball inflatable that they did before the game

Their first tailgate

We made it to our seats! How long will we stay?? Before coming, Grayson said he was so excited to watch baseball because he wanted to learn how to really play.

Well, we made it about 30-45 minutes in our seats and then got restless. So, down to the kids area we went.
Our first stop was to the small kids' baseball field. For $2 the kids could try to hit a few balls, run the bases, and then catch balls in the field. Grayson went first.

He wanted to be pitched to. I think he hit 1 of the 5 that were pitched

And he ran the bases like a pro

Neylan hit off a T and did a great job with that

But, running the bases was another story. He could not figure out where to go, so the lady ran with him to first.

Then she pointed towards 2nd and told him to run, but he didn't get it and started running back to home plate! This picture tells it all- complete confusion after running to first base!

The boys took their gloves and loved fielding the balls

Next, we headed to the playground and water area. I think Grayson thought it was ok to get completely soaked since we just came back from Sea World, where that was ok. So glad I took a change of clothes for him!

And finally, sno cones!!

Overall, they had a great day. We skipped naps today for this and by the end of the game, it really showed (in a very bad meltdown sort of way). So, an early bedtime was had by all tonight!
